News 2026: The Verdict
The murder trial of Duane Davis, the Grammy Hall of Fame, and the 30th anniversary of his death: An overview of all verified news on Tupac from 2026.
Thirty years after the shots were fired in Las Vegas, a jury delivered its verdict. 2026 brought the Tupac Shakur murder trial and the guilty verdict against Duane “Keffe D” Davis.
Following several postponements, jury selection began in Las Vegas on August 10. Opening statements followed on August 17, and on August 31 the jury found Davis guilty. Sentencing is scheduled for October 13, 2026; the defense has announced an appeal, and the verdict is not final.
The reports trace the path leading there: motions to suppress evidence, changes of counsel, the admission of the book and the 2008 interview, witness testimony, closing arguments, the family’s reaction, and interviews afterward. The page The investigation describes the background.
30 Years of “All Eyez On Me”
Beyond the courtroom, the focus was on the work and the legacy. Thirty years after its release, All Eyez On Me was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, while the 30th anniversary of his death brought tributes in Baltimore. Added to this were the family’s civil lawsuit, the dispute with Daz Dillinger, a video game, a biopic, an announced song by 50 Cent featuring Tupac and Eminem, and a documentary about the trial.
Only reports backed by at least one trade or quality source were included. For living persons, the presumption of innocence applies; claims made in court or in interviews are marked as such. As of October 8, 2026.
