Drake Shows Off Tupac's Alleged 1996 Death Row Chain

Drake shows off a 1996 Death Row pendant. From prison, Suge Knight doubts its authenticity, while Tupac's stepbrother Mopreme criticizes the purchase.

On the back, “All Eyez on YOU 1996”; on the front, the logo of Death Row Records: On August 24, 2025, Drake posted a photo of a pendant on Instagram. According to reports, it is said to be Tupac’s chain from that year, seen on the cover of All Eyez On Me. Back in 2023, Drake had already bought Tupac’s crown ring at auction for around $1.1 million. Dealer Alexander Bitar reportedly brokered the pendant; no price was confirmed.

Pushback from Behind Bars, Criticism from the Family

From prison, Suge Knight stated on a podcast that it was not a Death Row chain and had never been Tupac’s. In early September, Mopreme Shakur asked why Drake was pursuing “the King of Rap” so hard, and said the family should have Tupac’s belongings. There is no independent authentication of the chain.
