'Juice': Alternate Ending for the 25th Anniversary
Better to fall than face a cell: For the 25th anniversary of 'Juice', Ernest R. Dickerson released the original ending in which Bishop lets go.
Bishop hears police sirens, stops fighting, and lets go. In the 1992 theatrical ending, Tupac’s character plunges from a rooftop during a fight because Q (Omar Epps) cannot hold on to him. For the 25th anniversary of Juice, director Ernest R. Dickerson released the previously discarded alternative ending in June 2017.
Rather Fall Than Go to Prison
According to Billboard, Dickerson said the scene was meant to show that Bishop was “not a punk” and would rather fall than go to prison. The occasion was the anniversary edition on DVD and Blu-ray, which includes additional material and interviews. Rolling Stone and Vibe also reported on it.
More on the film is provided on the page Juice (1992), and on the soundtrack at Juice. The scene itself offers a rare look at Tupac as an actor prior to his rap breakthrough.
