"I'm innocent": "Keffe D" gives his first TV interview

From jail, Davis tells "Good Morning America" he was not at the scene. Four days later he walks out of another interview.

On March 6, 2025, “Good Morning America” aired the first television interview with Duane “Keffe D” Davis since his arrest.

No gun, no car, no proof

“I’m innocent,” Davis said from the jail in Las Vegas. He claimed to have been hundreds of miles away at the time and said “20 or 30 people” would confirm it in court. The prosecution, Davis said, has nothing: no gun, no car, no proof.

Keeping his distance from his own book

He also distanced himself from his 2019 book Compton Street Legend, saying he neither wrote nor read it.

On March 10 Davis ended an interview arranged with the Las Vegas Review-Journal after a few minutes, saying his lawyer had told him not to give interviews without him. Until a verdict, Davis was presumed innocent; how the case went on is covered on The investigation.
