Murder Trial of “Keffe D” Postponed to February 2026

New witnesses and doubts about the crime scene: Judge Carli Kierny postpones the murder trial of Duane “Keffe D” Davis to February 9, 2026.

The murder trial of Duane “Keffe D” Davis is delayed by nearly a year. On February 18, 2025, Judge Carli Kierny moved the start from March 2025 to February 9, 2026. Davis agreed to the postponement.

Doubts About the Crime Scene and Dispute Over the Evidence

The defense had requested more time the Friday before. A private investigator had reportedly found witnesses who could testify that Davis was not at the crime scene, and further witnesses needed to be questioned. Attorney Carl Arnold also suggested that another person had organized the attack. He named no names.

In addition, defense attorneys announced they would consult medical experts regarding Tupac’s death, citing witnesses who had described him as stable after the attack. Judge Kierny stated that a good deal still remained to be prepared so that Davis could be effectively defended. The prosecution, by contrast, sees strong evidence. The course of events is summarized in The Investigation.
