Drake Buys Tupac's Crown Ring at Auction for $1.01 Million

One day after the sale, Tupac’s crown ring was on Drake’s index finger: On July 27, 2023, the rapper showed it off in an Instagram Story while promoting his guest appearance on Travis Scott’s album Utopia. On July 28, Sotheby’s confirmed to Billboard that he had bought the ring at auction for about $1.01 million.

“This unique ring was designed by Tupac himself and is among the final products of his boundless creativity,” said Cassandra Hatton, Sotheby’s head of science and popular culture. The auction house stated it was pleased that the piece was now entering a new chapter “in the hands of another legendary artist.” The history of the ring is described in the report from July 26.
