Kendrick Lamar to Drake: Give Tupac's Crown Ring Back

On stage in Los Angeles, Kendrick Lamar calls on Drake to return Tupac's crown ring-in exchange for "a little respect".

On June 19, 2024, Kendrick Lamar took the stage at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles and addressed his feud with Drake. At the concert “The Pop Out: Ken & Friends,” he brought a piece of jewelry into focus: Tupac’s crown ring.

A New Line for “A Little Respect”

In his track “Euphoria,” released in April, Lamar had already alluded to Drake buying a ring from Tupac. On stage, he changed the line: Drake should give the ring back, and then he might show him “a little respect.” AllHipHop reported that Lamar wore an outfit reminiscent of Tupac’s appearance at the 1994 Source Awards.

$1.01 Million at Sotheby’s

The ring had gone to Drake at Sotheby’s in July 2023 for around $1.01 million; see the report from July 28, 2023. A jeweler from New York offered Lamar a replica of the ring online a few days later. Whether Lamar accepted the offer was not reported.

The case shows how prominently Tupac’s name featured in the feud between the two rappers: after the AI voice in April, now with a keepsake.
