Police search a house in Henderson in the Tupac murder case

Search in Henderson: Las Vegas police secure evidence in the Tupac murder case, at the home of Duane "Keffe D" Davis, the uncle of Orlando Anderson.

Nevada has no statute of limitations for murder. On July 17, 2023, the Las Vegas police (LVMPD) executed a search warrant in Henderson, Nevada, “as part of the ongoing Tupac Shakur homicide investigation.” On July 18, they confirmed the operation without providing details.

The search targeted Duane “Keffe D” Davis

A day later, media reported, citing the search warrant viewed by NBC: The target was the home of Duane Keith “Keffe D” Davis, the uncle of Orlando Anderson, who was killed in 1998. Investigators were looking for computers and storage devices, audio recordings, photos, and documents that could establish a motive or identify the perpetrators.

.40 caliber, photos, and a book seized

According to Vibe, police took away, among other things, .40-caliber ammunition, computers, photos from the nineties, a Vibe issue featuring Tupac, and Davis’s book Compton Street Legend. Since 2018, Davis had publicly stated that he was sitting in the shooters’ car.

Nobody had been charged at that point; the presumption of innocence applied. How the evidence and statements connect is documented on the page The Investigation.
