New Bronze Statue for Tupac Announced in Stone Mountain

Seven feet of bronze for Stone Mountain: In April 2017, Jim Burnett commissioned sculptor Nijel Binns to create a new Tupac monument.

A monument was once again set to stand on the grounds of the former Tupac Amaru Shakur Center in Stone Mountain: In April 2017, Billboard and The Source announced a new Tupac statue for Georgia. The center had been sold to Jim Burnett in 2015, and the original bust had been removed beforehand. According to The Source, it was damaged in 2008 and picked up by the family in 2015.

Seven Feet of Bronze for the 21st Anniversary of His Death

Burnett commissioned the sculptor Nijel Binns, who had previously created statues of Michael Jackson and Shirley Temple. The plan was for a seven-foot bronze figure (around 2.1 meters), weighing roughly 1,000 pounds. According to TMZ and Billboard, the costs were around $500,000. The unveiling was scheduled for September 2017, for the 21st anniversary of his death.

Whether the statue was actually unveiled during this period is not confirmed by the reviewed sources. Further places of remembrance are collected on the page Tributes.
