Funkmaster Flex on the 1994 Quad Robbery: Objections from T.I. and Lil Cease

Funkmaster Flex claimed in 2017 that Tupac shot himself at Quad Studio in 1994. T.I. promptly objected, while Lil Cease denied confirming it.

On May 3, 2017, Funkmaster Flex spoke out in an Instagram Live video. The New York radio DJ claimed that Tupac shot himself first during the robbery at Quad Studio on November 30, 1994. Billboard quotes him saying that that was how it happened. Why he brought up the subject now of all times remained open, as Billboard noted.

T.I. Objects, Lil Cease Denies

Reactions came immediately. T.I. objected politely in an Instagram post: one does not speak ill of a dead man who can no longer defend himself. Flex should have said that during Tupac’s lifetime. According to Complex, rapper Lil Cease wrote during the broadcast that Tupac had fought back and accidentally shot himself in the process. Flex presented this as confirmation. Cease stated afterward that he had not confirmed the theory.

The reports cite no evidence. The established facts regarding the robbery can be found on the page The 1994 Quad Studio shooting.
