USA Network orders pilot Unsolved about the murders of Tupac and Biggie
USA Network orders a pilot for Unsolved: The series about Tupac and Biggie is based on Greg Kading's investigations. Anthony Hemingway directs.
The two major police investigations into the murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G. are coming to television: On November 10, 2016, Billboard, Rolling Stone, and Vibe reported that the cable network USA Network had ordered a pilot for the series Unsolved. The fictionalized true-crime series is being produced by Universal Cable Productions and is based on the experiences of former LAPD detective Greg Kading.
Kading’s Book Provides the Basis
Kading led several task forces on the cases and wrote the book Murder Rap. On the series pilot, he is consulting on the script and serves as co-executive producer. Kyle Long (Suits) is writing the script, with Anthony Hemingway (The People v. O.J. Simpson) directing and also involved as a producer.
Kading’s Perspective Defines the Series
The series is thus an adaptation of Kading’s perspective. For his allegations against Sean Combs, see the report on Murder Rap. It did not stop with the pilot: Unsolved premiered in 2018, see Series premiere on USA Network.
