Gillie Da Kid: Tupac Role in Planned Suge Knight Film
The script ready, training underway: in 2013 Gillie Da Kid announced he would play Tupac in a film about Suge Knight. But confirmation never came.
He already had the script, the budget was in place, and for the role he wanted to transform like Will Smith in “Ali”: on July 17 and 18, 2013, AllHipHop, Vibe, and The Source picked up an interview with Philadelphia rapper Gillie Da Kid (Gil Smith). He said he was taking on the role of Tupac in an upcoming film about Death Row founder Suge Knight. He had been training for it and was only waiting for the shooting date. He was not involved in the production; he was only an actor.
The Producers Do Not Confirm the Project
None of the sources named a studio, director, or start date. The Source wrote explicitly that production and release dates were not set. This made it a statement from an involved party, not a confirmation from the producers. For the firmly announced film projects of that year, see the reports of September 19 and November 12.
