"Better Dayz": Second Double Album from the Archive Released

On Tuesday, November 26, 2002, Better Dayz was released. Issued by Amaru and Tha Row, it was the second of two announced double albums featuring recordings from the archive, following Until the End of Time in 2001.

27 Tracks, One from “One Nation”

According to XXL, the 27 tracks originate predominantly from Tupac’s time at Death Row, with Suge Knight and Afeni Shakur named as executive producers. Released in advance as a single was Thugz Mansion, featuring R&B singer Anthony Hamilton. As guest appearances, AllHipHop mentioned among others the Outlawz, Trick Daddy, Nas and Ron Isley.

A special feature is Military Minded with the Boot Camp Clik. Tupac had recorded the track for One Nation, an unreleased collaborative album with other rappers. For Better Dayz, it received a new beat. The vocal tracks reportedly remained unchanged, said Dru Ha, head of the Duck Down label. The old version had previously circulated on mixtapes.

In the US, the album entered at number 5 on the Billboard 200 with 366,000 copies sold in its first week. In 2014, the RIAA certified Better Dayz triple platinum.
