Audio Expert on MTV: Nobody Says "Suge Shot Me" in the Makaveli Intro
In November 2002, the MTV show "Big Urban Myth" had the Makaveli intro examined. The rumor that "Suge shot me" can be heard did not hold.
For years, a rumor had persisted among fans: In the intro of the first posthumous album The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory, released under the name Makaveli, a quiet voice mumbles “Suge shot me.” The recording allegedly revealed who shot Tupac. The MTV show “Big Urban Myth” had this claim tested in November 2002, as AllHipHop reported on November 19.
An Expert from the Heavy Metal Trials
The passage was evaluated by a specialist in forensic audio analysis. In the 1980s, he had defended Judas Priest and Ozzy Osbourne against accusations of placing hidden messages in their music. His conclusion: The words “Suge shot me” are not spoken. What can be heard is rather something like “nothing gonna stop me” or “from the top.”
The rumor is thus one of the many theories surrounding Tupac’s death and Suge Knight. In the same week, Amaru and Tha Row were preparing the release of Better Dayz, the second of the two announced double albums.
