"2Pac Is Alive": A Blog Post Against the Return Myth

Number games around the 7 Day Theory and alleged return myths: How the blog argued against "2Pac is alive" in 2007 and what the facts show.

Archive note: On October 14, 2007, an opinion piece against a familiar myth appeared on the site’s blog (then Thuglove.de / United-Tupac.Com). While fans speculated about alleged number codes and a return, the author made it clear with facts: Tupac Shakur is dead.

Moneymaking Instead of Resurrection

The author wondered why fans repeatedly fell for theories like “2Pac is alive” or “2Pac is coming back.” He considered the number games surrounding the “7 Day Theory,” according to which Tupac would return after seven years, to be a money-making scheme.

He also mentioned the assumption of some fans that Tupac had only died around 2001 because the album Until the End of Time still sounded so much like him-for the author, his favorite album. He himself did not believe it: anyone who saw the tears of Jada Pinkett Smith in the interview on the Tupac: Resurrection DVD knew that Tupac was dead.

Seven Days in August 1996

The theories tied into the album The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory, which was released under the name Makaveli on November 5, 1996, barely two months after Tupac’s death. Tupac based the stage name on the political theorist Machiavelli; fans interpreted it and the title as hidden clues. According to XXL magazine, however, the title referred to the album being completed in seven days during the first week of August 1996.

There was never any evidence of survival. Tupac died on September 13, 1996, at 4:03 p.m. at University Medical Center in Las Vegas; respiratory and cardiac arrest resulting from multiple gunshot wounds were recorded as the cause of death. His body was cremated the following day. Later releases offered no mystery either: Until the End of Time (2001) consisted of recordings from 1995 and 1996.

From the Coachella Performance to the 2026 Murder Verdict

The “2Pac is alive” rumors persisted. They were fueled anew around 2012, for example, when a projection of Tupac appeared alongside Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre at Coachella.

Meanwhile, the justice system dealt with his death: On August 31, 2026, a Las Vegas jury found Duane “Keffe D” Davis guilty of Tupac’s murder (first-degree murder). As of October 2026: The verdict is not final (Davis announced an appeal), and sentencing is scheduled for October 13, 2026. More: Tupac’s killer unmasked after 22 years?
