Bail Denied Again for Duane Davis: Trial Postponed to March 2025
Questionable letters and suspected cover-up: Judge Kierny denies bail for Duane Davis again and postpones the trial to March 2025.
Two letters were supposed to get Duane Davis out of his cell, but they failed in court: On August 27, 2024, Judge Carli Kierny denied his release for the second time.
Identical Wording, Wrong Address
The defense had sought to prove that the bail down payment came from legitimate sources and submitted two letters. According to them, music manager Cash “Wack100” Jones had wired the money. Kierny noted, however, that both were worded identically: One was signed by an individual with no ties to Wack100’s company, while the other bore a misspelled name and an address that belonged to a doctor’s office.
Davis’s lawyer Carl Arnold admitted that a bail bond agent had dictated the wording of both letters. “I have a sense that things are trying to be covered up,” Kierny said. Prosecutor Binu Palal explained that the state takes this very seriously; it would not go uninvestigated if false paperwork was submitted.
Trial Postponed to 2025, Verdict in 2026
At the same time, the judge pushed the trial from November 2024 to March 17, 2025. It finally began in August 2026; Davis was still presumed innocent (status: The Investigation).
As of October 2026: A Las Vegas jury found Davis guilty on August 31, 2026. The verdict is not final; the defense has announced an appeal.
