Trial Against Davis Set to Begin on June 3, 2024
The trial against Duane Davis is set to begin in Las Vegas on June 3, 2024. He is the only person charged in the Tupac case so far.
On November 7, 2023, the proceedings against Duane Davis were given a date: a judge in Las Vegas set the start of the trial for June 3, 2024. Davis is the only person charged in the Tupac case so far. Five days earlier, he had pleaded not guilty.
The Other Suspects Are Dead
According to prosecutors, Davis is the only surviving suspect: his nephew Orlando Anderson, the alleged shooter, died in 1998; two other men, Terry Brown and Deandrae Smith, are also dead. Suge Knight, who was injured in the attack, is serving a prison sentence from another case.
The Date Did Not Hold
His court-appointed defense attorneys, Charles Cano and Robert Arroyo, planned to file a motion for release on bail before the trial. But the date did not hold: it was later postponed several times, see the reports of February 20, 2024 and August 27, 2024.
