30 Years of Death Row: Two Tupac Albums Back on Cassette
For the label's 30th anniversary, Tapehead City brings 'All Eyez On Me' and 'The Don Killuminati' back on cassette, in red, gold, and as a 'Prison Tape'.
These titles had not been available on cassette since the nineties. When Death Row Records turned thirty in 2021, the cassette retailer Tapehead City celebrated the anniversary with four reissues: according to the magazine Consequence (report from March 12, 2021), the first cassettes since back then. From Tupac’s catalog, All Eyez On Me (1996) and The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory were included, along with Dr. Dre’s The Chronic and Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle.
Red, Gold, and Cassettes for Prison
All Eyez On Me was released in translucent red, The 7 Day Theory in gold. All four titles also received a “Prison Tape” version with a clear shell and no cover art. Pre-orders could be placed immediately, and shipping started on April 20.
