25 Years of “Me Against the World”: Merchandise and Vinyl Reissue

For the 25th anniversary of “Me Against the World,” the estate released 1995-style apparel and a 180-gram double LP on Amaru and Interscope in 2020.

On March 14, 1995, Tupac’s third studio album Me Against the World was released. In March 2020, the record turned 25-the estate celebrated the anniversary with merchandise and fresh vinyl.

Designs Straight out of 1995

On February 17, Hypebeast reported on the anniversary collection: alongside vinyl, it included three T-shirts and a hoodie whose designs look as if they came from 1995. The hoodie displays the album’s tracklist. Prices ranged from $30 to $95, with pre-order shipping scheduled for March 13.

Four Weeks at the Top of the Billboard 200

In March, Amaru Entertainment and Interscope reissued the album as a 180-gram double LP. The record was already notable upon its release: according to Billboard, it spent four weeks at the top of the Billboard 200 in 1995 and was Tupac’s first number-one success there. It contains Dear Mama and So Many Tears, among others.

For fans, the anniversary was also an occasion to listen to the album anew. An evaluation is not part of this report; for the work itself, see the album page.
