New Film Claims Tupac Is Alive in New Mexico
Escape from the hospital, protection with the Navajo: Rick Boss announces a feature film with '2Pac: The Great Escape From UMC'—without any evidence.
A body double in Suge Knight’s BMW, an escape from the University Medical Center in Las Vegas, and protection with the Navajo in New Mexico: Rick Boss turned an old conspiracy theory into the plot of a feature film. In 2Pac: The Great Escape From UMC, the Los Angeles filmmaker aims to show that Tupac did not die at all. Rolling Stone reported on the project on February 11, 2020.
“Not Fiction”: The Lead Actor Disagrees
Boss told the station KTNV that the story was “not fiction”; he said he got it “from people” in Tupac’s circle. He cited no evidence. The actor Richard Garcia, who is slated to play Tupac, contradicted his director: “He is dead.”
Fatal Shots Instead of an Escape Plan
Tupac died on September 13, 1996, at the University Medical Center in Las Vegas from his gunshot wounds (murder case). Rolling Stone recalled that the theory has circulated for years, with a bodyguard and Suge Knight’s son among its voices as well. More on these claims under theories.
