Duane "Keffe D" Davis: I Was in the Car and I Know the Shooter
He was in the car and knew the shooter: in 2018 Duane "Keffe D" Davis broke his silence on Tupac's death. In August 2026, a jury found him guilty.
On the night of September 7, 1996, Duane “Keffe D” Davis was sitting in a car on the Las Vegas Strip when the shots were fired. In July 2018, the former gang member’s statements made headlines: in the BET series Death Row Chronicles, Davis stated that the shots came “from the backseat.”
He Doesn’t Name the Shooter, Doesn’t Deny Anderson
Davis is the uncle of the late suspect Orlando Anderson. He did not name the shooter due to the “street code,” but did not deny that Anderson could have fired. He said he was going public now because he had cancer and had nothing left to lose: “All I care about now is the truth.”
Kyle Long, the creator of Unsolved, demanded that police take action. Some German media outlets mistakenly attributed the statement to the series Unsolved; it originated from the BET series.
Charged in 2023, Found Guilty in 2026
As of October 2026: Davis was charged in 2023. On August 31, 2026, a jury in Las Vegas found him guilty (CBS/AP). See investigations.
