From Craigslist to Auction: Three Notebooks with Tupac Lyrics

A fan stumbled across alleged Tupac notebooks through a Craigslist ad for baseball cards. In early March 2016, memorabilia dealer Moments in Time announced it was auctioning three of these books. In addition, there are CDs on which unreleased music can allegedly be heard.

Drafts for “Keep Ya Head Up”

The seller’s father had worked for Tupac, according to a TMZ report picked up by Rolling Stone, Billboard, and Vibe. The three notebooks reportedly contain handwritten lyrics, ideas for music videos, and further notes. Among them are drafts for “Point the Finga”, “16 on Death Row”, “Keep Ya Head Up”, “Street Fame”, “Thugz Get Lonely Too”, “Only Fear of Death”, and “Who Do U Love?”.

Handwriting Without Guarantee

That Tupac wrote a lot by hand is also shown by his poems. The authenticity of the auction items was not independently confirmed in the reports. Billboard wrote that the handwriting was identical to the prison letters that Moments in Time had already offered for $225,000 (2015 report).
