"Too Tight": Tupac's Song for MC Hammer Surfaces
In February 2016, "Too Tight" surfaced in CD quality: an unreleased song that Tupac had written and produced for MC Hammer in 1996.
Studio footage shows Tupac at the controls: he is overseeing a singer’s vocal track for the chorus, while his reference track plays in the background. The clip had already surfaced online in poor quality in 2008; until February 2016, this piece of Tupac history was known only from that video. Eight years later, the title track “Too Tight” for MC Hammer finally appeared in good audio quality as “CDQ”—that is, in a quality close to CD.
Tupac Wrote and Produced for Labelmates
As Vibe reported, during the final months of his life Tupac was by no means in the studio only for his own tracks. He also wrote and produced songs for other artists on Death Row Records, such as Hammer, who had signed with the label in 1995. Hammer’s album Too Tight remained unreleased.
An unreleased song by Tupac with Hammer and Big Daddy Kane was also already known. The Source followed up with the news the next day.
