Kickstarter for Documentary “Justice for Tupac and Biggie”
Crowdfunding for a doc: In 2014, Lloyd Lake and Reggie Wright claimed authorities looked the other way because Suge Knight was an informant.
Crowdfunding against an alleged cover-up: On March 18, 2014, AllHipHop reported on a Kickstarter campaign for the documentary Justice for Tupac and Biggie. It was launched by Lloyd Lake, a former associate of Suge Knight. Takashi Bufford (“Set It Off”) was slated to direct and produce. Alongside legal experts, interviewees were to include Reggie Wright, described as Tupac’s bodyguard and Knight’s right-hand man.
Authorities Allegedly Looked Away
The film’s thesis: authorities had looked the other way in the still-unsolved murders of Tupac (1996) and Notorious B.I.G. (1997) because Knight was a government informant. That is the filmmakers’ claim; the source cites no proof, and it has not been confirmed in court.
In an extensive interview on March 25, Lake and Wright discussed it; at the time, the film was still in pre-production. Whether it was ever completed is not shown by the retrieved sources. On the case: investigation and theories.
