After Tupac: Eazy-E and ODB to Appear as Holograms

A good year after Coachella, Tupac’s appearance served as a template: On May 14, 2013, the organizers of the Rock the Bells festival in Los Angeles announced that Ol’ Dirty Bastard and Eazy-E were set to appear as virtual figures at the September dates. Musikexpress wrote that they were following the success of the 2012 Tupac projection, which had almost led to a solo tour.

The Families Give Their Blessing

In Rolling Stone, the families had their say. ODB’s mother Cherry Jones said she did not know how she would react, but found it wonderful and wanted to sing along. Eazy-E’s widow Tomica Wright was pleased that a new audience could experience him; the virtual Eazy-E was to perform with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. The relatives’ approval was thus explicitly on record.
