Tony Danza: Mail for Tupac in Prison
A sitcom star writes to the cell: In September 2012, Tony Danza spoke about exchanging letters with the imprisoned Tupac in 1995.
A man with five bullet holes who had written “Dear Mama” and starred in major roles was in prison in 1995 (biography). That was precisely what had impressed actor Tony Danza (Taxi, Who’s the Boss?). When he was promoting his book I’d Like to Apologize for Every Teacher I Ever Had on Access Hollywood in September 2012, he recounted that he had exchanged letters with Tupac back then.

He said he wrote to Tupac that there might be a better way to reach young people. Tupac replied: “Thanks for understanding me.” The correspondence turned into contact, and the two later met at a premiere.
The Media Report, No One Shows the Letters
Between September 19 and 21, Salon, Complex, and TV One relayed the story. Salon also referenced an MTV clip in which Tupac praises Danza. None of the reviewed reports showed the letters themselves; the account rests on Danza’s statement.
