2pac.com Ahead of the Relaunch

A countdown, an advance screenshot, and criticism of poker ads: How 2pac.com stood before its relaunch in early 2011-and what went live in late 2011.

A countdown was running on 2pac.com, but the post did not want to wait that long: On February 2, 2011, the site showed an advance screenshot of the new design and reported that 2Paclegacy was working on a relaunch of the official website 2pac.com.

Concerns Over Poker Ads and Cheap Merch

At the time, 2Paclegacy was the web presence centered around Tupac’s estate and the family; as early as 2007, for example, the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation pointed donors to 2PACLegacy.com. The post viewed the plans critically: The draft revealed a partnership with a poker site whose purpose remained unclear.

In addition, a web shop launched at the same time, offering merchandise that at first glance was of shocking quality and lagged far behind the Makaveli Branded label. The author hoped that the 2Pac name would not be further “run down.” These assessments reflected the opinion of the author at the time; a poker partnership could not be substantiated from archived versions of 2pac.com.

In Late 2011, the Site Went Online as a Blog

The relaunch came. An archive capture from December 2011 shows 2pac.com as “The Official Website” in the style of a blog with comment-enabled posts. It was reported there, for example, that the Outlawz would be sharing their work on the site going forward, and that director John Singleton (Boyz n the Hood) was in talks to direct a Tupac film. A retrospective celebrated 2011 as a “monumental year” for Tupac’s legacy.

In the end, Singleton did not direct the film: Benny Boom’s All Eyez on Me arrived in theaters in 2017. As the official website featuring a biography, discography, music, videos, and its own store, 2pac.com continues to exist (as of October 2026).
