Murder trial against Keffe D: Opening statements and first witness
The prosecution speaks of an act of revenge, the defense of pure nonsense: The murder trial against Duane 'Keffe D' Davis begins with opening statements.
“Duane Davis did not pull the trigger,” prosecutor Binu Palal said. But he made sure the shooters were armed. With opening statements, the murder trial against Duane “Keffe D” Davis began on August 17, 2026.
An “Act of Revenge” Against Fabricated Stories
Palal called the attack on Tupac an “act of revenge” following the brawl at the MGM Grand, in which Tupac and his entourage had beaten Davis’ nephew Orlando Anderson. To support this, the prosecution played recordings of Davis’ own statements.
Defense attorney Michael Sanft countered: there was no real evidence, not even that Davis was in Las Vegas. He showed jurors a slide featuring an expletive for “nonsense” and called Davis’ stories fabricated.
In the Ambulance, Tupac Did Not Want to Name Names
The first witness was former police officer Garry Dale, who rode in the ambulance with Tupac. Tupac did not want to name the perpetrators: “No, we’ll take care of it ourselves.”
If convicted, Davis faces life imprisonment. More: The investigation.
