A Section of Greenmount Avenue Becomes “Tupac Shakur Way”
That same week, Mayor Brandon Scott renamed a section of Greenmount Avenue in North Baltimore to “Tupac Shakur Way”. The street is located near Penn Lucy, in the area where Tupac lived as a teenager.
Sekyiwa Shakur, who according to her own account had not been back to Baltimore in 40 years, planted a “Peace Pole” during the ceremony. Her foundation plans to work with local organizations. Tupac’s time in the city is chronicled in the biography.
