Tupac's "Greatest Hits": 450 Weeks on the Billboard 200
450 weeks on the Billboard 200: Only three rap albums have spent longer on the charts than Tupac's 1998 double album.
In late November 2022, Tupac’s compilation Greatest Hits stood at No. 94, 14 spots lower than the previous week. Yet the Billboard charts account simultaneously reported a milestone: the album has now spent a total of 450 weeks on the Billboard 200. This makes it the fourth-longest-charting rap album. Ahead of it are Eminem’s Curtain Call: The Hits (607 weeks), Kendrick Lamar’s good kid, m.A.A.d city (526), and Drake’s Take Care (508).
In Steady Demand 26 Years After His Death
The double album was released in 1998, two years after Tupac’s death. It features singles such as “Keep Ya Head Up,” “Hail Mary,” “Hit ‘Em Up,” “Brenda’s Got a Baby,” “I Ain’t Mad at Cha,” and “I Get Around.” In 2011, the RIAA certified the release Diamond. For the catalog, the milestone demonstrates how steadily Tupac’s music continues to be bought and streamed even 26 years after his death.
