Will Smith on His Jealousy of Tupac

“F— yeah”: In 2020, Will Smith spoke on the radio about his jealousy of Tupac-and why he never found the courage to approach him.

Asked whether he had been jealous of his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s friendship with Tupac, Will Smith replied: “F— yeah.” On January 13, 2020, he spoke on the radio show The Breakfast Club about his relationship with Tupac. Billboard and AllHipHop reported.

Friends Since Youth, but Never a Couple

Jada and Tupac met as teenagers and remained close friends until his death. Smith said the two had loved each other, but never had a sexual relationship: by the time they reached an age where that was possible, Jada was already together with him. Jada had even encouraged him to reach out to Tupac because the two were so similar.

Too Insecure Around “Pac”

He could not do it, Smith said. He was the soft rapper from Philadelphia, and Tupac was simply “Pac”. Deeply insecure, he was not man enough for that relationship. Smith called never having approached Tupac one of his great regrets. The statements are Smith’s view of things.
