20 Years of 'Greatest Hits': Estate Releases Vinyl Set and Merchandise

A teaser on Instagram, five days later the reveal: for the 20th anniversary of 'Greatest Hits', Tupac's estate released vinyl and clothing.

An image bearing the text “1998” and the date November 24: that was all the Tupac estate showed on Instagram on November 19, 2018. Complex interpreted the post as a hint at the 20th anniversary of Greatest Hits. On Saturday, November 24, came the reveal: the estate released a limited vinyl set and a line of hats, T-shirts, hoodies, and long-sleeve shirts bearing Tupac’s face or name.

Four-Part Vinyl and the Record of the Nielsen Era

The four-part vinyl set was available in black or clear. According to Vibe, it contains 21 well-known tracks and the four songs that were new at the time, “God Bless the Dead”, “Unconditional Love”, “Troublesome ‘96”, and “Changes”, plus the original mix of “California Love”.

According to Billboard, the 1998 double CD is Tupac’s best-selling album of the Nielsen era. For sales figures in 2017, see Greatest Hits returns to the top 40.
