Las Vegas Police: Tupac Murder Case Remains Open, No Arrest Warrant in Sight
Following Keffe D's TV interview, Las Vegas police clarify: Tupac's murder remains open, and no arrest warrant is imminent for now.
Barely had Duane “Keffe D” Davis spoken about the murder case (see July 3 report), fans launched a petition on change.org demanding police action. But Las Vegas investigators dampened expectations.
No Arrest Warrant Despite New Statements
In a statement on July 4, 2018, reported by Billboard, Complex, and Vibe, police clarified: they were aware of the statements made in the BET interview and had therefore thoroughly reviewed the case over the preceding months. Reports that an arrest warrant would soon be sought were “inaccurate”; the case remained an open homicide case.
According to the reports, Davis had already told police earlier that Anderson was the shooter; Anderson denied that before his death. Davis was not charged until 2023 (see investigations).
