Dispute over Tupac Photos on Jenner Shirts Settled

No ruling on the Tupac photos: Photographer Michael Miller and the Kendall + Kylie brand asked the court to dismiss the lawsuit on April 4, 2018.

A court filing dated April 4, 2018, ended the legal dispute over the Tupac photos on the Jenner shirts (see withdrawal of the shirts): both sides asked the court to dismiss photographer Michael Miller’s lawsuit against the Kendall + Kylie brand. Each side bears its own legal fees; the documents provide no details regarding a financial settlement.

The Brand Cited a License

Miller had argued that the sisters used his pictures of Tupac without permission. The brand countered that it had received the photos from a company authorized to license them. Following the criticism, the brand pulled the shirts.

Shortly beforehand, Vibe reported on another case: photographer Al Pereira had also sued. Kendall Jenner countersued him, demanding around $22,000 for her legal fees.
