A&E Launches “Who Killed Tupac?” with Benjamin Crump

Civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump reopens the murder case: On November 21, 2017, US network A&E launched the six-part series “Who Killed Tupac?”.

His mother went to school with Afeni Shakur, and he himself represented the families of Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, and Tamir Rice: with civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump, A&E launched the six-part series Who Killed Tupac? on November 21, 2017. It had been announced in May, at that time still slated for June 29. Crump explained that he was approaching the case “from scratch” and wanted to separate facts from myths.

Doubts About the Research, Confrontation at the Crime Scene

The Las Vegas Review-Journal considered the series’ investigation “flawed at best” in a review, but highlighted moving moments. Such as the encounter between E.D.I. Mean and police officer Chris Carroll, who was the first at the crime scene: E.D.I. said that he and his friends were treated as suspects because of their skin color. Carroll responded that he had kept his weapon drawn because he did not know what he had walked into.

In December, the series aired a report on a possible murder weapon. How the investigators actually proceeded back then is shown in the chapter Investigations.
