Jenner Sisters Pull Tupac and Biggie T-Shirts After Backlash
Their own faces superimposed over Tupac and Biggie: Following sharp backlash and legal threats, Kendall and Kylie Jenner pull their T-shirt line.
$125 for a T-shirt on which their own faces were superimposed over photos of musicians such as Tupac, The Notorious B.I.G., and Ozzy Osbourne: In late June 2017, sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner’s brand Kendall + Kylie offered these pieces. Voletta Wallace, Biggie’s mother, called this “disrespectful, disgusting” and “exploitation at its worst” on Instagram. A lawyer for Biggie’s estate threatened legal action. The Guardian reported on June 29 that the line was subsequently pulled.
Photographer Michael Miller Sues Over Copyright
On July 7, photographer Michael Miller filed a copyright lawsuit: his photos of Tupac had allegedly been used on the shirts without permission. The case was not settled until April 2018 (see case settled).
