Henchman's Lawyer Calls the Confession a Lie, New York Police Investigate
After Dexter Isaac's confession to the 1994 robbery, Rosemond's lawyer called it a flat-out lie. The New York police announced a review.
The response came quickly. One day after Dexter Isaac had confessed to robbing Tupac in 1994 on behalf of Jimmy “Henchman” Rosemond, his attorney Jeffrey Lichtman rejected the account. “A flat-out lie,” he told the New York Daily News. Isaac was not trustworthy, he said, and only wanted to shorten his own sentence.
Police Want to Speak with Isaac
At the same time, the New York police took the report seriously. Spokesman Paul Browne said investigators would look into the report; should the confession prove authentic, they intended to question the incarcerated Isaac themselves.
At that point, Rosemond had been on the run for around a month. On June 21, 2011, federal agents arrested him for drug trafficking, as XXL noted in September in a detailed reconstruction of the robbery. The magazine concluded that the truth about that night at Quad Studios remained unclear. The status of the investigation and everyone involved are described on the page about the 1994 robbery.
