The Outlawz Announce Two New Albums, This Time Without Tupac's Voice

"Outlawz 4 Life: 2005 A.P." was set for release in April 2005. Young Noble explained why the group deliberately opted against verses from Tupac.

At the end of March 2005, the Outlawz came forward with two album projects. The first was titled “Outlawz 4 Life: 2005 A.P.” and was scheduled for release on April 19 via 33rd Street Records. On it, only members E.D.I. Mean, Kastro, and Young Noble rhymed across 17 tracks. A second album titled “Chapter 2: The Rebirth” was also in the works.

Deliberately Without Tupac

Notable was who was missing. Tupac had once assembled the group, and he was featured on many of their earlier releases. This time, the Outlawz deliberately went without his voice. Young Noble told AllHipHop that it was time to stand on their own two feet. Tupac had given them “the blueprint,” which was enough. The fans wanted to hear new music from the Outlawz, not Tupac yet again.

Noble explained that they had learned from him to draw from their own lives. Music rooted in experience was timeless, which was why some people preferred listening to old records rather than what was currently playing. That was precisely the kind of music the group wanted to make, instead of rhyming for other rappers or for women.
