Tupac’s former comrades in front of the camera: In late April 2002, the DVD “Worldwide” about the Outlawz was released, produced by Fortress Entertainment. The company had made a name for itself with behind-the-scenes documentaries about rappers. The online magazine RapReviews reviewed the film on April 30, 2002, giving it 9 out of 10 points in all categories.
Four Portraits and Their Own Label
At the center are Young Noble, E.D.I. Mean, Napoleon, and Kastro. The film begins in the studio, then each member tells his story. One chapter shows how the group works independently through their label Outlaw Recordz and retains the rights to their recordings themselves. Napoleon travels to Puerto Rico to his roots and speaks about his faith, Young Noble visits old friends in New Jersey. In New York, the Outlawz appear on BET’s show “Rap City”.
Reconciliation with Hussein Fatal
According to RapReviews, the DVD also dedicates a separate chapter to former member Hussein Fatal, even though he was working separately from the group at the time. As bonus features, it includes the videos for “Worldwide”, “Thug Wit Me”, and “Black Rain”, freestyles, and a bonus CD with new music. The reviewer saw this as proof that Tupac was right to name the Outlawz as his successors.
