Naughty by Nature: Unreleased Tupac Verse on "Ashes to Ashes"
In January 2002, Naughty by Nature announced a song for their album "IIcons" with a previously unreleased verse by Tupac, Treach's best friend.
Tupac can also be heard on the new album by Naughty by Nature. MTV News reported this on January 7, 2002. The group was working on IIcons, which was scheduled to be released on April 9, 2002, on TVT.
A Verse from the Archive
A previously unreleased verse by Tupac can be heard on the track “Ashes to Ashes”. MTV called him the late best friend of Treach. Both rap in it about a life on the edge.
Guests from the Pager
The remaining guests came together in an unusual way. During a stay in Los Angeles in the summer of 2001, Treach sent messages to musician friends: anyone who wanted to participate should come to the studio. That was how Pink, Carl Thomas, Method Man with Redman, Queen Latifah, and Lil Jon & the Eastside Boyz landed on the record. The first single “Feels Good” featuring the group 3LW was announced for March. Following September 11, the market needed feel-good music, said Vinnie, Treach’s partner in the group, on January 4.
