Big L's Album "The Big Picture" Released with a Contribution from Tupac
On August 1, 2000, "The Big Picture" by rapper Big L, killed in Harlem, was released. Among the guests: Tupac, posthumously like Big L himself.
Two rappers, neither of whom was still alive, appear together on a new record. On August 1, 2000, Rawkus Records released The Big Picture, the second and final album by Big L from Harlem. Lamont Coleman, his real name, had been shot and killed in Harlem while still working on the album.
Among the guests, alongside Fat Joe, Guru, Kool G Rap, and Big Daddy Kane, is Tupac Shakur. Like Big L, he did not live to see the release. Producers included DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Lord Finesse, and Showbiz.
The Source commemorated the record in 2022 as Big L’s final album. Additional guest appearances by Tupac on albums by other artists are listed on the Featured Songs page.
