All Eyez on Me: The Life and Times of Tupac Shakur is something of a puzzle among Tupac books. The title has been sitting in retailer databases since the mid-2000s, and the old United-Tupac site listed it as early as 2007, yet we could not trace a single shipped copy that made it into a library catalogue.

What was announced

Skinner is an American author and journalist. For MTV/Pocket Books he had already written tie-ins to the TV series VH1 Behind the Music, such as The Day the Music Died (2000) and Casualties of Rock (2001); novels like 14 Degrees Below Zero (2005) followed.

What it was meant to cover

The publisher’s copy promised a life story running from Tupac’s poor beginnings through prison and stardom to the fatal shooting in Las Vegas. Goodreads also labels it an “authorized biography”. We found nothing, however, to show that the Shakur family or the estate was ever involved.

Verdict

We list this title as an announced book that may never have been published. There is no review in the trade press, no library record with full bibliographic data and no excerpt, only retailer entries repeating the same details. That points to a project that was dropped before release. Status as checked in October 2026: Open Library lists a hardcover edition (MTV, August 8, 2006, 384 pages, OCLC 149124552), and Goodreads gives June 1, 2006 with only 11 ratings; no review, library catalogue record or publisher listing turned up. If you own a copy, we would love to hear from you.

The biography that actually had the family’s backing arrived much later, in 2023: Staci Robinson’s Tupac Shakur: The Authorized Biography. For an overview of all titles see Books; for the album of the same name see the discography.
