MACON, Ga. (AP) -- A Georgia artist hopes to promote peace with his wall painting of slain rappers and rivals, Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G.

"It shouldn't take death to stop violence," said Carl Dudley, a rap musician, hip-hop choreographer and airbrush artist.

Giant images of Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G., whose name was Christopher Wallace, are on a brick wall on the side of One Stop Music. Beneath the airbrushed portraits are the words "Increase the Peace."

Dudley and his partner, Larry Newton of Atlanta, painted the mural because of the similarities in the rappers' deaths. Shakur was gunned down last November in Las Vegas; Wallace was shot to death last month in Los Angeles. There have been no arrests in either death.

Dudley is also an organizer of a group called NUTS - Neighborhoods United to Survive. The group was started to discourage territorialism that leads to violence between gangs.
